1. The program curriculum

I blend the best of High Scope, Play Based, Theme Based and Montessori methods to help your child learn and develop. The curriculum is designed on an individual basis on each child’s age and developmental level. The children will learn through play, educational activities, circles and one-on-one lessons.

2. Qualified Teacher

I have my Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma and graduated with honours. I am also registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators, which makes me an RECE. Please note you must be registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators. I have my First Aid/CPR training and a criminal record check.

3. By the Park facilities

The centre is safe, comfortable and designed to stimulate learning and play. It is set up like a day care with all the interest areas such as the dramatic centre, creative table, book centre, blocks area, etc. There is a good sized fenced backyard with play structures and lots to do.

4. Nutritious Meals

Balanced, nutritious meals are prepared daily. There is a 4 week rotating menu that consists of a morning snack, lunch and an afternoon snack. All meals will be nutritious and follow Canada’s Food Guide. A detailed menu will be posted in the class daily.

5. 1/6 Ratio

The benefit of a home child care is that the provider can only have 6 children. FYI-A preschool class room in a day care has a 1/8 ratio and could have 24 kids in a class. A smaller "family-style" setting can help your child feel more comfortable and helps to develop closer relationships with each other and with their caregiver. There is also the benefit of having a sibling in the class which creates a safe place for your child to grow.

6. No School Pick ups or Drop Offs

A lot of home day cares spend a lot of the day walking to different schools to drop off and pick up children. Check out the child cares schedule to see how much time is spent in a day on these walks. Also consider if you want your child walking in -20 degree weather or getting wet on a rainy day.

7. Toy rotation

Children get bored of playing with the same toys every day. That is why I rotate the bucket toys and the dramatic centre every two weeks. That, combined with the daily activities, will prevent any child from getting bored, and gives your child endless learning opportunities.

8. Date Night

Every few months on a Friday I offer "Date Night" for parents. Parents do not have to pick their child/children up till 10:00pm for a small fee of $25, which includes dinner. That day I am open from 8:00am-10:00pm.
